When you’re ready to buy tracfone minutes, simply:
- Go to the Tracfone online shopping cart
- enter your existing Tracfone phone number or serial number
- click the ‘Add’ button for one of the Pay As You Go airtime cards for the number of minutes that suit your needs
- click the Quantity plus sign (+) button to add one or more cards to your order
- then click ‘Continue to Checkout’ to finish your order
If you don’t mind a monthly plan but want one with lower minimums than the major cellular service providers offer, Tracfone offers what they call Value Plans as a way to buy Tracfone minutes automatically. These are monthly plans with a set number of minutes, which allow you to have new minutes added to your phone each month without having to purchase additional minutes unless you need them. Typical plans at the time this page was written (October 1, 2011) include:
- $9.99/month, for 50 minutes, which comes to $0.20/minute
- $19.99/month for 125 minutes, which comes to $0.16/minute
- $29.99/month for 200 minutes, which comes to $0.15/minute
* Remember, be careful not to purchase more minutes than you need if you choose a Value Plan. That’s the whole point of prepaid wireless, to avoid wasting unused minutes.
Note that the minutes on a Value Plan WILL EXPIRE at the end of each month, but if you know you’ll use at least 50 minutes each month, then for $10.00 you can be sure you’ll be getting additional minutes added each month automatically. All Value Plans include talk, text, web and email usage. There are also no contracts, no activation fees, and no cancellation fees for any Value Plan.
